Project Narrative
Loveless Porter Architects engaged Rich Hostelley Architect as Design Consultant to establish a cohesive architectural identity for the Hopehill campus—bringing unity, clarity, and purpose to a collection of program elements through a thoughtful exterior design vision.
While a comprehensive floor plan had already been developed, the project required a unifying architectural language capable of tying together new and existing structures into a coherent campus environment. RH+ARCH’s role focused on refining building massing, material palette, and formal relationships—creating a balanced composition that reflects the mission, values, and community-centered nature of Hopehill.
At the core of the design is a covered transition space that acts as the connective spine of the campus. This element links the new worship and education facility with the existing fellowship hall and a new multipurpose addition, establishing a clear organizational framework while enhancing circulation and wayfinding across the site.

More than a passage, this transitional zone is designed as an active social hub. It incorporates an interior bistro and informal gathering space, complemented by an adjacent exterior courtyard that supports fellowship, casual interaction, and community events. The seamless integration of indoor and outdoor environments reinforces a sense of openness, connection, and shared experience.
Through strategic design intervention and careful composition, the project transforms a series of individual components into a unified campus—one that is both functionally efficient and architecturally expressive, serving as a welcoming environment for worship, education, and community life.
